Lenin by RedOut Lenin by RedOut
Kind of a blend between things Ive done like "Theory of Revolution" and "Bio" and inspired by other things. Its about lenin because of all the revlutionaries, he made the biggest change in the world.

Not sure if everyone or anyone will see it, but thats a flag right under lenin and it pretty much coveres up his bottom half, it was in the painting I traced it from and I though Id leave it in rather than try to draw his lower half because I think it would look better.

If I get the time, maybe ill also do Malcom X, or even Martin Luther King.

Did Lenin actually say that quote? It doesn't sound like him. It seems to me, though, that he certainly believed in a centralized state to coordinate things and act as a central framework...or was that only to carry out the revolution?

Then again, I havn't read THAT much Lenin.

Very well done. Clean and contundent. I like your (┐neo?)-futurist style.

I couldn't help but notice that the size of the stars seems to follow some rule, but I can't work it out. ┐The place where most notable communists have been born? ┐lived? ┐The communist sentient across the world? ┐Or what?

I feel dumb. :(

Yes, a great man indeed.

I would be real happy if you'd color out the eastern european parts of the USSR, we got 'added' when the SU was an imperialistic state, under stalinism. Aswell as Afghanistan if you redded that too.

Sorry I took like a week to answer, I answer my messages from newest to oldest usually before I get to yours my internet connection get cut off. I dont know much about lans or routers or hubs, but I need them to get on the internet and they usually only work when they want to, so Im cut off half of the time.

Iv'e been meaning to resubmit or reupload this in "png" anyways, because something this clean gets murdered when its a blurry "jpg", but I forgot and moved on.

Problem though is that apparently in my orrigional (file with all the layers and stuff) I apparently messed up that map so its not a vector anymore, and I dont have the reference map for it anymore, so Id have to find another map and use it to "guess" where afghanastan and such are. Ill probably get started in a day or so.

Well, just put an old world map on a layer and with that put some grey above those territories. But have a good time anyway. :D

The most I like in this picture is that a red star (which is usually a sign for cities) is on a place of my home town - Tomsk :) where Lenin has never been.
Good work.

that quote at the bottom can be taken a few ways. i guess, after some deep thinking, it's kinda trotskyist.
either way, wonderful work.
Anarres Featured By Owner Jul 30, 2005
I think it sounds more like anarchist.

On the other hand, and despite all their discussions, Lenin and Trotsky were in the end comrades and they agreed more often than not. In his will (which was not read, as it was supposed to, to the Supreme Soviet) Lenin adviced against Stalin and "his search for power", and clearly hinted Trotsky as a good sucessor for him.

Anyway, as I have stated repeatedly, communism and anarchism are merely different in their means -- the end they seek is the same: a stateless, classless, egalitarian, free and solidary society.

it's not trotskyist. please read "state and revolution" for details ;)
