Though the jewish community gets most of the sympathy for the holocaust, they werent the only ones in the camps. Most of these people were given a symbol of identification, coloured triangles. Some of these symbols went on to represent the group of people after the holocaust (homosexuals, for example)
Red: Political prisoner, often a communist or socialist that is not a nazi.
Pink: Homosexual
Brown: Sometimes used for undesirables or antisocials (like non-comformists) instead of black triangle, which was sometimes reserved for lesbians.
Purple: Jehova's whitness
Blue: Emigrant
Black: Antisocial
Green: Criminals
Yellow: Jew, 2 triangles used to form a star of david, this second star can be combined with any of the other triangles to form the star if they happen to be jewish too.
I felt like doing something informative, so here it is.
I know Hitler is a Bastard but I hate how everyone hates the Germans for what he did. Earlier they were under his Control, mostly because they were Scared...but why do they call every German nowadays a Nazi? I mean...That's just mean.
What happened was shit though, I had ancestors who were Nazis and I had Ancestors who had died in Holocaust for many different reasons. I can't understand how they would think of doing something this cruel.
I went to the holocaust Museum in DC; it was amazing and horrifying and so many other things, but the one thing that truly stuck out to me was the a of information on people who weren't Jewish. We shouldn't forget or discount anyone or history is bound to repeat itself, was what the museum's message was, but there wasn't much about other people. Thank you so much for this piece and who it represents.
